Inside Medford has 2 Responses to “Burke Announces Candidacy for Mayor”
  1. Moe says:
Will you be taking a leave of absence from your hundred thousand dollar a year job from the city of Medford while you are running for Major of Medford ??
  2.   Info Medford Editor says:
Moe – I believe the Director of Personnel/Budget Director receives $120,000.00 or so, about 20 thou more. I have supported Stephanie and voted for her many times, but I agree with you that she should resign to campaign and personally asked Stephanie to resign. Congrats on her candidacy, I wish her well. She’s a nice person.   April 22nd, 2015 at 2:55 pm

A CONTRACT WITH THE CITIZENS IS NEEDED

Elected officials have an obligation, an Agreement with citizens to SERVE THE PUBLIC, public service.

Think of the alleged "Contract with America" that the Republican party offered in 1994.

Look at the potholes right outside of City Hall Mall which jolt your car on one of the most traveled roads in Medford.

Stephanie Burke failed to put a platform together with her announcement.  Like Adam Knight they just want to be part of some beauty pageant, as if they are ENTITLED to the huge paycheck making no effort to lead the city out of the dark jungle created by McGlynn's selfish Administration.

Stephanie Burke needs to publish a CONTRACT with Medford which includes:

---investigating the 27 1/2 year Administration *(*thus far)of Michael J. McGlynn

---opening the financial records of City Hall

---resigning from her positions of Director of Personnel and Budget Director IMMEDIATELY, shame on her for not doing so last week before her announcement.

---the investigation and, if necessary, the prosecution of Frank Pilleri, Harvey Alberg, Ron DeLucia, Art Deluca and the TV3 gang.

Stephanie Burke was one of our greatest councilors. She doesn't understand what a fall from grace it was to be held in such high esteem only to be clinging to the toxic coattails of such a scoundrel like Michael J. McGlynn.

As five "McGlynn" candidates have failed to be elected or left office looking over their shoulder (DiBeneDITTO, Lanzilli and Sciortino for Congress failed to get elected with McGlynn firmly behind them; Camuso and his uncle Bob Maiocco leaving pretty much in disgrace)the current "McGlynnites" - Neil Osborne, John Falco, George Scarpelli, "Night of the living" Fred Dello Russo, Jr. and the insufferable Adam Knight, along with Stephanie Burke and State Rep Donato, are all like members of the alien species THE BORG from Star Trek Next Generation, robotic creatures with no leader now that Alice Krige, the actress playing the Borg Queen, has been destroyed.

We need a leader in Medford.  This writer has spoken hundreds and hundreds of times at the Medford City Council over the past decade, you see me with facts and figures, public records requests, Comcast documents, hard work and honest effort that few in this city can match as far as persistence and investigations into this Administration goes.  Stephanie Burke tells us how wonderful she is in her press release, but why doesn't Stephanie tell us the HARD FACTS about the State of our City, not some touchy/feel good alleged Kumbaya around the campfire with her claim of being

" your partner in progress for the betterment of Medford!”

Real Progress would be having Fred Yellow-Russo having a seance to invoke the spirit of the great Zelda Rubinstein to cast out the evil spirit of McGlynn that so desperately wants Darth Stephanie or - as we affectionately call him - Don Gotti Donato or Night of the Living Fred to take over the corner office.

How much money was in Adam Knight's campaign coffers before the rookie voted for his own pay raise at his third council meeting?  And why?

Will Stephanie Burke come clean on that?

Why is there no access TV in this city all during the McGlynn reign of Terror?  Ask Vinny Piro, he knows.

We need a contract from these politicians. An Agreement of what they will do.

---remove McGlynn's daughters from teaching in our schools

---be transparent about how business is conducted at city hall

---a more efficient look at the Cradock Bridge crisis

---revitalization of Medford Square

---better use of the Chevalier Auditorium

---full investigation of Frank Pilleri and Medford Community Cablevision, Inc.

We need promises that are backed up with agreements from these McGlynn-ites, or the community needs to come out in droves and vote for people who aren't as conflicted as those aligned with McGlynn for the better part of three decades.

NOTES

One of the most traveled roads in Medford is to the left of City Hall Mall as you walk out the front door (the seemingly unnamed street between River St. and Clippership Drive)

The enormous multiple potholes at that light when you take the right towards 93 are all a stunning jolt, a reminder that McGlynn has failed to lead this city.

The road that connects Riverside Ave with Route 60, diagonal from Oakland at 1 City Hall Mall is a disgrace that defines McGlynn's lack of leadership and phoney baloney campaign promises

The Contract with America was a document released by the United States Republican Party during the 1994 Congressional election campaign. Written by Newt Gingrich and Richard Armey, and in part using text from former President Ronald Reagan's 1985 State of the Union Address, the Contract detailed the actions the Republicans promised to take if they became the majority party in the United States House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years. Many of the Contract's policy ideas originated at The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.[1][2]
