That's why the Boston Globe article on Lyons as a bigot and homophobe is stunning. All we can do is look at the silver lining. While Democratic Mayor Lungo-Koehn is going to lunch with Charlie Baker at the Bistro (and purportedly kicking out-to-lunch idiot Council President Caraviello- out being out with the trash) Lyons is taking aim AT Baker. Republican Chairman Lyons taking on Baker. Sweet.
Republican Chairman Jim Lyons has violated Ronald Reagan's unwritten rule of "Thou Shalt Not Attack Thy Fellow Republican." Reagan is rolling in his grave at the Chairman promoting loser Trump. Trump is a racist, homophobe, thief, murderer con artist. Not someone Lyons would have aligned with back in the Arlington days. Far from it.

Jimmy and his lovely wife have something in common with me. We were both relentlessly stalked at the same point in time (I was pressing charges around the time the Lyons were in court against the offenders) and we all prevailed over our crazed stalkers.
Was having coffee with my lawyer and pointed out the article on Jimmy and Bernie getting stalked by next door neighbors. It was chilling. It was the same exact time that I was taking an unbalanced woman, an ex marine, to court. What is in the water?

Rep. Lyons, family awarded $4.8M over harassment
Jury orders damages in lengthy feud with neighbors
State Rep. Jim Lyons and his family were awarded close to $5 million
in civil damages last week, payable by former neighbors who were
convicted in 2011 of criminally harassing them.
A 12-person jury
last Wednesday ordered William and Gail Johnson to pay the Andover state
legislator and his family $4.8 million in emotional and economic
damages caused as part of a case that extends back to 2008.
Lyons,
R-Andover, said that the result of the civil case, heard in Lawrence
Superior Court, showed that a jury found “that myself, my wife and my
children had suffered significant emotional and economic damages as a
result of the intentional conduct of the Johnsons.”
“The
last nine years have been an extremely trying time for our family,”
Lyons said last Thursday. Lyons together with his wife, Bernadette, and
family filed the civil suit in March 2009.
According to the civil complaint filed with the court, the Johnsons “falsely advertised on the Craiglist.org
website that the plaintiff, James Lyons, was selling a Harley Davidson
motorcycle owned by his deceased son. The plaintiffs, James Lyons and
Bernadette Lyons, do not have a deceased child.”
It continued that
the Johnsons “caused emails and letters to be sent to the plaintiff,
James Lyons, falsely alleging that the plaintiff, James Lyons, had
molested a fictitious, underage, former employee of ... Dandi-Lyons,”

The lunacy of Jimmy Lyon's platform is great for Massachusetts. It hurts Republicans and gives Democrats a stronger voice, maybe even strong enough to remove Baker.

Lyons was
elected to represent Andover in the State House in 2010, riding the Tea
Party wave as a conservative small business owner preaching tax cuts. He
lost to Democrat Tram Nguyen in 2018.
As
a state lawmaker, Lyons employed much the same tack he has used as
party chairman, pushing social issues with little chance in the
Democratic-dominated Legislature. He sometimes went too far even for his
fellow Republicans, often logging the lone vote against overwhelmingly
popular measures, including the annual budget. Not a single bill on
which he was the lead author became law.
“The power brokers on Beacon Hill did everything to stymie my efforts,” Lyons told the Globe.
Lyons earned a
reputation as Beacon Hill’s chief abortion opponent, and pushed for a
ballot question to repeal protections for transgender people, which
failed. LGBTQ activists cheered when they learned he had lost his seat.
Lyons
also led an unsuccessful effort to oust Republican minority leader Brad
Jones in 2014. Lyons said at the time leaders needed “to be more
aggressive” in promoting Republican values.
It is 2021, Jimmy. The Republican Party and its Trump loons are irrelevant. Thank you for splintering the charlatan political party so desperate that it is stealing votes from minorities because Vladmir Putin is not available to you at this time.
