Medford to Officially be Designated as a Purple Heart City Ceremony to be held on October 30 at 4:30pm on the front lawn of City Hall

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – October 17, 2024
Contact: Steve Smirti, Director of Communications (ssmirti@medford-ma.gov), 781-393-2529

  Medford to Officially be

Designated as a Purple Heart City

Ceremony to be held on October 30 at 4:30pm

on the front lawn of City Hall

(MEDFORD) — The City of Medford will be designated as a

Purple Heart City in a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, October 30 at 4:30pm

at City Hall, announced Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn.

The ceremony will honor local veterans, specifically Purple Heart awardees,

for their sacrifice and bravery.

A Purple Heart City is given to municipalities that recognize

Purple Heart military personnel, who were wounded or killed in combat.

To qualify for the distinction, municipalities must have residents,

either living or deceased, who have received this military award.

“There is a thriving and engaged veteran community in Medford and

honoring them with this Purple Heart City distinction before Veteran’s Day is a fitting tribute to their service,” said Mayor Lungo-Koehn.

“Please join us on October 30 for the dedication ceremony

to thank those who have sacrificed so much for our country.”

The Mayor’s Office, Medford Office of Veterans’

Services, and Secretary of the Executive Office of Veterans Services Jon Santiago MD, MPH,

will begin the ceremony at the Killed in Action memorial on the front lawn of

Medford City Hall, 85 George P. Hassett Drive.

A dessert reception will follow in the City Hall Howard Alden Memorial Chambers.

Hopeless, Anguished Battenfraud at Boston Herald sees the Blue Wave coming....

Letter to the Editor + For Immediate Release

Hopeless, Anguished Battenfraud at Boston Herald sees the Blue Wave coming....
a Joe Viglione editorial

With an amazing 418 tracks (many different versions of some songs) on Spotify
...truly a "boxed set" times whatever,
this writer has little time for political editorials these days.

But when a MAGA phony writer generates more fiction than pet tarantulas getting
eaten at Howie Carr's Thanksgiving gathering of Trump supporters, some of these nutjob Republicans
need a good spanking.   Once again Battenfiend is desperate for attention.

In his 7th grade essay contest, Battenfool gets a failing grade
Kamala Harris has surging voters, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Garner, Oprah Winfrey
and a surging, surging pocketbook, while Demented Donald's crimes have been
outlined by Jack Smith and Judge Tanya Chutkan, the Wrath of KanChut!

I mean I could write a song about it...

Judge Chut Could Give a Fxxx About Fake Election Interference

but I don't have time for that either.

Battenfake is so off-base with his support of the racist Electoral College,
Heck, the Founding Fathers made Everett racist city councilor Anthony DiPierro
look, well....he still looks racist, and allegedly homophobic

Many of the major Founding Fathers owned numerous slaves, such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison.  Others owned only a few slaves, such as Benjamin Franklin.  And still others married into large slave-owning families, such as Alexander Hamilton.  Despite this, all expressed a wish at some point to see the institution gradually abolished.  Benjamin Franklin, who owned slaves early in his life, later became president of the first abolitionist society in the United States.  Despite their talk and wish for gradual abolition, no national abolition legislation ever materialized.

The indispensable man of the Revolution, George Washington owned hundreds of slaves, but during the Revolutionary War,

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Increasingly desperate Democrats – fearing a repeat of 2016 – are resorting to a round of last-minute tactics like demanding more debates, shaming voters, changing the rules and doctoring interviews in a sign that panic may be setting in the party.
Kamala Harris is making a failed attempt to debate Donald Trump again – a surefire loser of an issue – while running mate bust Tim Walz is advocating getting rid of the Electoral College, created by the Founding Fathers to give more power to smaller states.
