But Laurie Myers of the Massachusetts victim rights group VOICES said a city-appointed panel can’t credibly investigate the matter. “The minute anybody catches wind of anything like this, it’s about damage control and saving the schools and not the victim,” Myers said. “Who was watching these kids? This group (of defendants) was obviously confident that they could get away with it when they went marching in to victimize these poor kids.”
