PARODY OF ACCESS TV

It's Duke and Duke from Trading Places (the Eddy Murphy film)

"Open up those machines...open up those machines..."  Don Ameche as Harvey Duke, Ralph Bellamy as Ronny Duke, the two scamming Duke brothers who profess to be "money managers" and who try to pull a fast one on EddyMurphy (as Redstones, a religious board member from the church that gay bashed a man) and Dan Akroyd as the famous TV producer they banned - eventually teaming up with Deacon Reds-stones, the man who verbally assaulted him with words from the Bible on 12/10/2002)

opening scene from the new film:

FROM DAWN TO SUNSET

A fictionalized version of Access in Medford

A failed director and her failed producer plot and scheme to swipe a chair at the diner...and access TV funds... to seek fame and fortune.  They are both a total flop, and when the judge boots the director's fanny back to the confederacy (heck, it is even set on the campus of Duke University...so it is Duke & Duke & Duke!), her hunchbacked protege' takes over and completely demolishes whatever was left...which wasn't much

Filmed in HarveyVision TM

"Theme from Sunset Boulevard"  ..."Dawn...I'm ready for my close up - on Sunset Boulevard!"

Get it?  Dawn...Sunset Road...

I mean...too funny!

 ..............
"Wilder's merciless portrait of the dangers of a profession that trades in fantasy cagily couples the cynical amorality of the never-was with the near-psychotic narcissism of the has-been to reveal the vacuity of wealth and the transience of fame." (from the Blu-Ray PR)

Hey...Andy Warhol promised us 15 minutes...where are my missing 3 minutes?

They were hijacked and taken to Rhode Island!

Larry...I'm ready for my close-up!

“The way I see it is that it's going to get much worse before it gets better,”   TRUER WORDS WERE NEVER SPOKEN!

“I’m happy to be leaving,” she said.  (And the community was only too happy to see the Norma Desmond of directors go!   There was so much applause in Alden Chambers when Attorney David P. Mayor's Cousin said she had "resigned" that Judge Thompson - Jackson had to demand "order in the court!")
As for the on-going battle between the station, its board, the city and the residents, Norma could only sigh.

“The way I see it is that it’s going to get much worse before it gets better,” she said. “I feel there will be a major legal battle that’s going to be drawn out and public access will suffer for it. That’s the real shame” Norma Desmond told the Medford Sanskrit  (The public HAS suffered thanks to you, dearie, but now access can get healthy again! )

this is a parody!

Then the director, in a rage, sues a talented man and loses in Superior Court....that's the sequel entitled

SUNSET FALLS ON DAWN
The End before her directorial career even begins!

It's so absurd no one would ever believe a hack director would listen to a hack board and take tens of thousands of tens of thousands of tens of thousands of dollars to sue a man she was envious of, only to lose to that man in spectacular fashion in a court of law.

Disgraced, dejected...her legacy is the catalyst for the destruction of Free Speech in a community five miles north of a major metropolis.

Who would believe such a thing could happen in 2009?  In 2011?

Then, the man that they sued emerges triumphant with the headline reading STATION CLOSES DOWN!

From Dawn to Sunset Road and Down for the Count!
