Attorney General
Martha Coakley is prosecuting that case, and she accuses McLaughlin of
using his position as director of the Chelsea Housing Authority to
solicit his employees to attend fundraisers for Murray. He is also
accused of asking a housing authority employee to collect contributions
for Murray and to distribute invitations to Murray fundraisers.

BOSTON
-- Michael McLaughlin, of Dracut, is facing yet another indictment in
connection with his work as the former director of the Chelsea Housing
Authority, even as he serves time on other federal charges and faces
campaign finance charges in state court.
U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz announced Tuesday that McLaughlin, 67,
of Dracut, was indicted on charges he and two other men conspired to
rig inspections of federally-funded housing units run by the Chelsea
Housing Authority.

BOSTON -- Michael McLaughlin, of Dracut, is facing yet another indictment in connection with his work as the former director of the Chelsea Housing Authority, even as he serves time on other federal charges and faces campaign finance charges in state court.
U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz announced Tuesday that McLaughlin, 67, of Dracut, was indicted on charges he and two other men conspired to rig inspections of federally-funded housing units run by the Chelsea Housing Authority.

Martha Coakley is prosecuting that case, and she accuses McLaughlin of
using his position as director of the Chelsea Housing Authority to
solicit his employees to attend fundraisers for Murray. He is also
accused of asking a housing authority employee to collect contributions
for Murray and to distribute invitations to Murray fundraisers.
Murray agreed to pay an $80,000 civil penalty in connection with
the allegations, and returned $50,000 in campaign donations from three
fundraisers allegedly connected to McLaughlin.
