Public Records and City Council of Medford
Thanks to the very presidential City Councilor Michael Marks, Dr. Storella got to give his presentation on January 7, 2014.

Also thanks to Councilor Michael Marks, I will be able to give a presentation on the 14th of January without the new "council president" shutting down the conversation, ostensibly to censor information from flowing to the public. A public which includes cable TV subscribers who get color bars for the millions of dollars in franchise fees paid to Verizon and Comcast over the years.

For those reading comments on Patch, we've been told that a non-profit in Medford is dissolving of its own volition. The data obtained from City Hall yesterday, actually from the board to city hall, is in direct conflict with those Patch comments. There's a September 27, 2013 e mail from the president of the non-profit to City Hall making it very clear who was in control of the dissolution. I will read that e mail into the public record on Tuesday night and citizens will have an opportunity to hear a date, a time, a signature and information in direct conflict with what has been posted on Patch by three different individuals

There is other information in the records requests garnered from the Secretary of State, the office of the Attorney General and from City Hall. The data is then inspected and a more precise picture can be obtained regarding a non-profit that existed via public funding.
---a more complete picture of the current state of the board of directors emerges. It might not be precise, but we now have names and acknowledgment of board participation
---a very clear picture of misinformation sent to city hall is uncovered, and the immature e mails and finger-pointing shows a defensive posture that is most troublesome for the authors of those documents
---the bashing of multiple disabled people is truly disappointing and most regrettable. It is exposed in all its gory detail.
---complaints from other people are uncovered, not just this writer's commentary on the way human beings were treated
---information that will be revealed at the City Council, but that I don't want to post right now. It is most revealing and the elected officials will be directed to take it all to the next level once these documents are in their hands.
A clearer - not complete - a clearer picture emerges, and that allows us to file more precise requests to the authorities - Senator Ed Markey, Attorney General Martha Coakley (both shaking my hand on Sunday at the inauguration, and both acknowledging it is in regard to the public access TV station,) and other individuals in positions of power will be receiving new requests for more documents and more information.
It is a lot of work. But Patch readers can see the high anxiety from those involved at the now (allegedly-dissolving) station. Once the documents are made public fasten your seat belts for more anxiety from the dwindling Peanut Gallery that was supposed to serve the community, but failed in that endeavor, some think, intentionally.
