The coffee shops in Medford are a buzzin'

Steve LeBert
Stephanie Muccini Burke
Mike McGlynn
Leo Sacco

their ears must be ringing

NONE of it is good.

LeBert really did it this time,
running a red light and getting caught

The bad reflections on Chief Sacco
McGlynn
and
Muccini-Burke

are overwhelming

They have to be deaf at City Hall to ignore this one.

RESPONSE TO

'DAN DEMMING'
ON
WICKEDLOCAL

MARIO MARTIN ESSAY

Mario, good job. Medford has some very excellent police officers. We are very fortunate in that we have some great, caring sensitive people on the force. LeBert is not one of them. He's a bad apple that proved, on videotape, that he is a disgrace to the badge. Threatening to blow a hole through someone's head is hardly "sticking his neck out" Mr. Dan Demming. Phoning for immediate back-up and not chasing someone into Medford Square was the appropriate way to handle things. That Mr. LeBert is hardly a rookie and is supposed to be held to the highest of standards is the other point that you fail to see. That the current climate of escalated tensions between law enforcement and the public around the world, not only in the U.S.A. means that a more reasonable approach is to be considerded. What if the driver had weapons and took the law into his own hands at a guy in a T-Shirt yelling and coming at him in the dark? Was Mr. LeBert even thinking about his own family if anything were to happen to him after he pulled his "ride 'em cowboy" stunt?

There's no logical excuse for LeBert's behavior.

Medford has some great police officers. LeBert is not one of them.

Dan Demming, I urge you to visit the coffee shops, tune in to CNN, read the Atlantic, New York Daily News, the comments on YouTube, your opinion is in the minority. I agree with you that an off-duty police officer has an obligation to do the right thing - but here is where you are way off base. The 25 year old kid, Michael, was hardly a threat. There was only one situation to take control of, the out-of-control guy in shorts and a T shirt screaming and yelling in the dark. If you think that's "taking control of a situation" then why don't you post your own photo? Please meet us at the City Council on August 11th, state your name and address to the public on TV, as some of us do, and say what you've written here by endorsing it with your name and address, as some of us do whenever there's a council meeting.
