Dear supporters of the workplace bullying bill,
I am writing with an important update regarding House bill 1771, An Act addressing workplace bullying, mobbing, and harassment, without regard to protected class status
A public hearing for this bill has been scheduled in front of the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 1:00pm in Room A-2 of the State House.  The public hearing is an excellent chance to show your support and to continue your advocacy of this bill.

There are a few ways that you can communicate your support to the Committee in the coming week. If your schedule allows, I encourage you to attend the public hearing to testify. The most powerful way in which to influence the Committee is to speak in person about how the problem of workplace bullying has affected you and your family. Sharing your story makes a difference. Please consider attending the hearing.

If you have not done so already, please take the time to write to your State Representative or State Senator and ask them to attend the hearing on July 21 to testify in support of H. 1771. If you do not know who your legislators are, visit the Secretary of State’s website atwww.wheredoivotema.com. Simply fill in your address information where you are registered to vote, and click the “Show my results” button, then scroll down to “Current elected officials” box. Click on both your State Senator’s and State Representative’s names to see their contact information.

For your reference, I have attached a fact sheet and the text of the bill.

Once again, thank you for your interest in this important issue. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to be in touch with me.

Yours sincerely,
Ellen Stor
