Five days after a public records request was filed for information about bomb-sniffing dogs being dismissed at Medford High School and multiple sources complaining about an allegedly promiscuous high school student and a teacher having an inappropriate relationship, five days after that public records request, the police in Medford started stomping on free speech rights,
FREEDOM OF THE PRESS,
in a way that does not help the public, and in a fashion that is the antithesis of public safety.

This, of course, is the police department where the bad bricks - a few bad apples - make the entire building condemned by the city council - a metaphor for clowns disguised as police officers finding their way into the news...
...the siestas of Captain Alan Doherty
...the murderous threats of golden boy Stephen LeBert, the officer with so many complaints filed on him that Police Chief Leo A. Sacco, Jr. looks like some gang leader at a penitentiary, not the head of law enforcement at a public safety facility.
________________________________
Chief Leo A. Sacco, Jr. allowed LeBert to do some very bad things over the years, and the police turned a blind eye because LeBert's alleged "methods of persuasion" were what Sacco allegedly thought could be considered "good police work."
No, he was a thug that you used like the FBI used a gangster, Whitey Bulger, and then it came back to haunt Leo A. "What? Me Worry?" Sacco Jr.

Former D.A. Gerry Leone had a reputation as a "straight shooter."
Sheriff Peter Koutoujian has the reputation of someone who used to be a "nice guy" but who got caught up in the "McGlynn machine" and can't get away fast enough.
"You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."
So Koutoujian is like "El Presidente' " in the James Bond flick License To Kill, like Leo Sacco, beholden to the drug dealer, Franz Sanchez.
Oh, and they caught Deacon Bill dealing drugs up at Billerica House of Correction.
You REALLY think that was an "error in judgment," or maybe, if you readers are getting a clue, it was "business as usual."
Jimmy DiPaola was a narc.
Then he became sheriff with the promise to be on the up and up and clean.
He's the filthiest politician that you've probably ever heard of in Middlesax having had entanglements in so many enterprises - Medford city life, the Sheriff's office, Cambridge prison, Billerica House of Correction (where you could get a raise by paying the late sheriff ten grand or fifteen grand,) all the while a respected Medford lawyer told the city council that Michael J. McGlynn's overly praised daddy was getting paid about 80k a year for a no-show job.
Marian Ryan, why aren't you investigating Michael ? Oh, is the statute of limitations expired?

Statements like that can get you 25 years in the slammer...free speech is anathema to the criminals who have infected Medford government.

Now you do the math.
Your editor is on trial because he published a public records request to ask about information concerning allegations of a powerful politician's daughter and inappropriate relations with a teacher.
Don't believe what that dirty rat Nell Escobar Coakley wrote in the Transcript. She has no objectivity and she herself should be under indictment for discriminating on which stories will hurt a Bob Maiocco (Wells Fargo shenanigans,) or a powerful politician engaged in a massive cover up.
