Medford officials demand TV3's financial records

On July 7, Rumley sent Pilleri a letter requesting financial data from MCC and information about where it transferred remaining assets. Rumley asked to receive the records by July 24. (2014 - EDITOR)
Rumley had not received records from MCC as of the Transcript’s Tuesday print deadline.

But officials want proof, since Medford Community Cablevision, Inc. (TV3’s legal name) is required to transfer all remaining assets to the city before it dissolves.
TV3’s Board of Directors now has until Thursday, July 24 to produce financial records from the station’s final year or it could face legal action from the city.
Last October, the board voted to dissolve the station following seven months of no broadcasting, allegations of racism and other problems.

City Solicitor engaging in bullying against this journalist
By Joe Viglione

At 8:59 and 9:00 pm last evening (Thursday, July 21,) City Solicitor Mark E. Rumley - again - contacted my lawyer and threatened to file civil and criminally against me.

This from the city lawyer alleged to have moonlighted on Medford residents and taxpayers holding down a second job at Somerville District Court on Thursdays as an alleged bill collector.

This from the individual that has not held TV3 accountable. Instead of coming after me, the guy helping Medford residents, Rumley should be keeping his promise to the cable tv subscribers of Medford and investigating TV3.

Mark Rumley's integrity is as shredded as alleged documents at a sheriff's office after an alleged suicide. My opinion, granted me by the First Amendment, is that you'll get more truth and honesty out of the California Psychics than you will ever get out of City Solicitor Mark E. Rumley.

Mr. Rumley demanded that Medford Community Cablevision, Inc. hand him the meeting minutes and financial records by July 24, 2014 or the city would potentially litigate. Two years have elapsed come this Sunday. RATHER than keep to his promise and give us the financial data of a board of directors that Rumley sat on (which begs the question, shouldn't a board member actually have those records?) Rumley has decided to bother me and my attorney.

Mr. Rumley defames me by calling me "delusional." If I'm so delusional, why do my writings matter to him? Mr. Rumley said in a court of law that no one believes me. The fact that I wrote about 5,000 music reviews in 9 years indicates that Mr. Rumley was maliciously attacking my work ethic. Arguably I'm published in more legitimate books than the city solicitor. Is he jealous? Mr. Rumley appears to spend more time reading my blog than he does working for the city of Medford. Now if he truly believes I'm delusional, what does that say about him ? He says no one believes me, but he threatens to sue me civilly and criminally over words that he has said, under oath, that he doesn't think anyone believes.

Rumley, paid handsomely by Medford residents, has an obligation to stop harassing this senior citizen and make good on his promise to litigate against TV3. Wasting police resources for his malicious vendetta against a journalist he is pathologically jealous of doesn't help Medford. Bringing TV3 to justice does help Medford.

So why is the City Solicitor so derelict in his duties? Why does he change his tune, speaking with forked tongue, and throwing the hot potato of TV3 at the Attorney General when that was NOT the deal he made with us?

Rumley threatening a citizen is reason for Rumley to step down or be impeached.

Meanwhile in Mexico another journalist has been killed

Another journalist killed in Mexico

Coatzacoalcos (Mexico) (AFP) - A Mexican journalist was shot dead in front of his wife and two adult children outside his home in a crime-ridden eastern state where 18 other reporters have been murdered since 2010.

Pedro Tamayo Rosas, a 45-year-old who covered the police beat for two online dailies in Veracruz state, was killed late Wednesday in the town of Tierra Blanca, prosecutors said.

The preliminary investigation indicates "there were two assailants who approached Tamayo to greet him at a business in his home," the Veracruz prosecutor's office said in a statement.

A family member said on condition of anonymity that Tamayo had come out to help his wife and two sons man a food stand when he was killed.

City Solicitor Mark E. Rumley / Medford Daily Mercury on or about Nov. 16, 2008 (quoted from the 2nd Judge Jackson-Thompson hearing) saying:

“The one sentiment that I have heard that I take great exception to is that the city is trying to limit speech,” said Rumley. “The notion the city would censor or squelch free speech is baseless and as city solicitor I would find any such effort repugnant.”
