WHAT HAS PAT JEHLEN DONE IN 11 years in the Senate?
Mailed to Candidate Cheung and Candidate Jehlen at 11:07 am July 21, 2016
According to her website, Senator Patricia Jehlen was first elected to the
Massachusetts Senate in 2005. She represents the Second Middlesex
district, which includes Medford, Somerville, Winchester, and
Cambridge.
Go to Pat Jehlen's website and her list of accomplishes are thin: http://www.patjehlen.org/issues
This
writer has achieved more with a blog to clean up the Medford Housing
Authority, public access (like shutting down the rife-with-malfeasance
Medford Community Cablevision, Inc., public roadways, city council
censorship and underhanded tactics of the administrations of both
Michael J. McGlynn and Stephanie Muccini Burke.
If
a citizen can accomplish more for our city with a blog than Pat Jehlen
has done in office for eleven years, it can only mean that Jehlen
INTENTIONALLY fails to be proactive on issues like public access (which
she uses liberally, but fails to support - hypocrite,) like Medford
Housing (can't touch that third rail or it will ruffle the mayor's
feathers, even though both mayors are supposed to be hands off on the
issue, and certain little matters like allegedly voting for three pay
raises for Michael J. McGlynn when home rule petitions brought it to the
senate.
This is a two-part question I would like to see Pat Jehlen answer:
Does
the pay raise have to go to Beacon Hill and did Jehlen vote for Mayor
McGlynn to get a pay raise on three or more occasions?
"Together, the raises will cost the city an additional $105,795 for fiscal 2014."
How fiscally irresponsible, if true.
Marks, meanwhile, said he voted against the raise because he thinks McGlynn earns enough.
"I have no problem giving out raises," Marks said. "I just think the mayor’s salary is already excessive. He’s a public servant and he’s getting in the realm where he’s like a private sector CEO."
McGlynn, the city’s mayor for the past 26 years, said the council’s decision to increase his salary is an acknowledgment of his work.
"As much as some of them don’t care for me, they know I’ve done a good job," McGlynn said. "The city’s in great shape, best financial state we’ve ever been in."

Charlie Shannon was a proactive guy. When we had a problem on Salem St. Mr. Shannon was right there and helped out.
Wikipedia: Charles Edward Shannon,
Jr. (August 31, 1943 – April 5, 2005) was a Massachusetts state
senator. He represented the Second Middlesex district from 1991 ..
I
personally handed Pat Jehlen a folder full of documents about access TV
and she ran away from the issue faster than ex-State Rep Carl
Sciortino and Christine Barber ever could !
More
improvements are made in the city of Medford via news posted on a blog
because the politicians in power are all about collecting a pay check,
discriminating on which "safe" legislation they will get behind and
which "hot button issues" they will avoid - which is the majority of
them - and Pat Jehlen is safe in her bunker looking for her next chunk
of change, not what she can do for you.
In
the previous election Jehlen faced political novice Robert "Bartender,
hand me five more drinks" Cappucci who, with his nutty campaign manager,
declared "We are not fighting Pat Jehlen, we are fighting Obama."
OK,
last I checked President Obama was not Cappucci's opponent. Then the
two klutzes put out a press release that Cappucci had destroyed Pat
Jehlen on the Winchester TV (WinCAM) cablecast debate.
Come election time, Pat Jehlen demolished Bob "I can drive my mother's car home, Joe" Cappucci who was so trashed that this writer had to stuff him into the passenger seat of my car to drive him home before he hurt some innocent people and / or himself.
Pat Jehlen is not facing the alleged town drunk in a debate tonight. She is facing an established city councilor:
"Leland Cheung is currently serving his second term on the Cambridge
City Council, where he has been a strong leader in economic
development, community building, and regional cooperation. In addition
to being the youngest member of the Cambridge City Council, Cheung is
the first currently enrolled student to be elected to the Council, as
well as the first Asian American.
Currently, Cheung is the chair of the Cable TV,
Telecommunications & Public Utilities Committee and the Neighborhood
and Long Term Planning Committee."
from Cheung's biography:
The
chair of the Cable TV Telecommunications and Public Utilities
Committee, Leland Cheung, vs the woman who ran away, Pat Jehlen, when
Medford Community Cablevision, Inc. came to her attention years and
years ago when Joe Viglione handed her a packet of information on the
now defunct tv station.
Which was accused of racism and homophobia and forced to give back the contract to the city.
Due
to my leadership bringing that issue to the Medford city council and
proactive councilors working with me to get the Medford Police involved
and the parasites running the TV station removed.
That's
hard, honest work that Senator Pat Jehlen refused to do. She didn't
want to ruffle the political feathers, even though she uses the medium
to HER advantage while her constituents are mocked, vandalized and
locked out of cable TV stations for exercising their free speech rights.
Pat Jehlen, do as she says, because she wont' fight for you to have the same rights that she has.
It's all about Pat Jehlen, not about you, and after eleven years it is time for a change.
