I
was a neighbor of Anthony's and he was always polite to me. The thing
about police officers and lawyers is that they have limited free speech.
Anything they write or say on public forums becomes fair game for
defense attorneys and/or prosecutors, it can show potential bias, in my
humble opinion. With certain jobs come certain responsibilities. The
First Amendment is more expensive than people realize, and protestors
who do not have millions of dollars to buy billboard space will do
things to get attention. Two wrongs don't make a right, so name-calling
only helps the defense...again, my opinion
The Boston Pride Committee said Monday that Anthony Imperioso, a
member of the Woburn Police Department, made offensive comments on
social media that do not reflect the organization's mission, according
to the Boston Globe.
"As an inclusive organization, Boston Pride does not condone any
language that is intolerant of racial, ethnic, or religious
differences," a statement on the matter posted on Boston Pride's website reads.
"Additionally, we reject language that promotes violence towards any
individuals who are exercising their First Amendment rights."
