City Clerk Job Down to 3 Finalists, SKERRY IS OUT

After interviewing seven candidates for City Clerk this week, the City Council has selected three finalists to move forward for a second round of interviews.
The finalists are Sean J. Fitzgerald, Amy S. Akell and Adam L. Hurtubise. The other four candidates who did not make the cut were Linda Colozzo, Jane B. Cultrera, Kara Tierney and Robert E. Skerry, Jr.
Fitzgerald, Akell and Hurtubise will be interviewed again in City Hall on Aug. 1 at 6 p.m.
The new clerk is expected to take office Sept. 11, following the retirement of longtime City Clerk Ed Finn.

The finalists: Sean J. Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald is the former Chief of Staff for Massachusetts State Representative Jay R. Kaufman. He has also worked in different positions for the City of Somerville, including as Press Secretary to the Mayor. id.
