Protests Pop Up Across Medford and the Internet, Fueled by Daily Dissatisfaction
National Grid drivers who went on strike in May for higher wages restarted their strike last week. The strike has affected fuel deliveries, leaving some gasoline stations empty in parts of the city, including West Medford areas north of Tempone Manor.
Medford's Bond rating, the real Bond rating, not the propaganda issued from Neil Osborne's office, has lost nearly 80 percent of its value compared to a year ago, weakened at least in part because the Burke administration withdrew Medford from the "three cities" agreement in May and restored Winchester/Somerville/Malden economic sanctions. The first batch of those restored sanctions is set to take effect on Monday.
In older times clerical had an additional common meaning of referring to anything to do with the clergy — those ordained for religious work, usually in the Christian faith. Clerical comes from the old Latin term clericus, meaning a "churchman," from which cleric later came, meaning a priest or religious leader. To have "a clerical air" means to be clearly identifiable either as an ink-stained office wretch or a member of the cloth.
