Medford has had six horrible station managers in a row thanks to city government interfering in access television (allegedly "former" Mayor McGlynn, who still controls Stephanie, was knee-deep in the MCC TV3 mess, which - allegedly - is why no criminal charges have been filed and the investigation has been stalled)
Patrick Gordon is a good guy. Will Stephanie try to turn him into a robot like she did Ben Brown who skedaddled to MGM Resorts (y'know, the company currently suing the victims of the Las Vegas shooting; Ben is now Senior Media Systems Engineer at MGM Resorts International and happy to have gotten out of Dodge, no doubt!)
In the real world having an inept and bungling Cable Advisory Board acting as a 501c3 board of directors is absurd.
What's the difference between Jay Campbell and MCC TV3 liar-in-Chief Arthur Alan Deluca?
Elder-basher Deluca - a disgustingly dirty old man - knows more about access than Campbell.

Sure, you won't find Jay Campbell yelling the F word at his mother, as Deluca is alleged to have done prior to Elder Affairs stepping in on the creep and protecting his sweet mom (Elder Affairs was called when Deluca started harassing other peoples' families, so why is Deluca allowed to participate at Medford Community Media while he purportedly is under investigation by the Attorney General's office? The old MCC TV3 crew should be banned for a 5-10 year period after all the destruction that they caused and the failure to tell the public where monies designated for public access went)
Access TV should be more than Jay Campbell guffawing and making a spectacle of himself at board meetings; we need a new 501c3 that is honest and runs access TV properly.
Mayor Stephanie cannot make the proper decisions due to her conflict of interest(s) She, like Trump, sees absolute power as her magic wand. Well, absolute power corrupts absolutely, and as Exhibit A we give you the mayor's hand-picked and clueless Advisory Board.

The only two people who showed up to the poorly attended and poorly promoted advisory meetings.

What the hell is going on with the creepy Chapter 74 board at the high school?
Why are Paul Gerety, Steve Bertorelli and Arthur Deluca from the old disgraced TV3 lurking around and keeping the public out just by their very presence? Because that's the way Stephanie and Mike McGlynn want it.
We've worked for 15 long years to correct access TV in Medford.

Stephanie does not want Patrick Gordon running a public access station. His hands are tied to begin with giving the high school priority over the few access members that they have. Ben Brown and Jay Campbell doing a horrible job of outreach and facilitation of programming.
Problem is: the cable providers want to cut access off from the funding. In Malden you have an Executive Director clueless about how to get good audio, and prancing around at the annual meetings gathering all the attention - Obie Ron Kenobi - oh please, grow up. Then Malden president George Manfra does the bidding of the Executive Director. Shouldn't it be the other way around? In Somerville you've got a board member making sexual comments about Mayor Curtatone at a station with little children in the room, and in Winchester you have Dave Gauthier who used to room with Obie Ron Kenobi up in Salem. Gauther is more interested in building a phony name for himself at Mass Access - Winchester TV be damned.
There are some GREAT stations I am a member of, stations that need no scrutiny, no complaints ever filed on them, because they do things the RIGHT WAY. One of those stations where my membership went on for a long, long, long time told me that they had the same problems as TV3 Medford, but they installed TERM LIMITS and have run professionally now for over 15 years. They are terrific. It's a bit of a drive to get there, but in over two decades I have only good to say about them, where many of my Visual Radio shows were taped. Same with other cities and towns where I am proud to be a member.
But Medford? The most screwed up situation in access television.
Stephanie is on the wrong track to fix things. Say a prayer for Patrick Gordon. With this selfish mayor he's going to need all the help - and prayers - he can get.
But at least he got away from Obie Ron Kenobi, didn't he?
