Lt. Jack Buckley is a 20-year veteran of the Medford Police Department.
For the first time in nearly 30 years, Medford has a new police chief.
Detective Lieutenant John D. “Jack” Buckley has been selected to serve as the new Chief of Police, Mayor Stephanie M. Burke announced in a press release on Dec. 10.
Buckley, a 20-year veteran of the Medford Police Department, has worked as a Patrol Sergeant and Detective Sergeant in addition to Detective Lieutenant. Burke picked him out of four officers who applied for the position.
The other candidates were Lt. Paul Covino, Lt. Michael Fahey and Lt. Mark Rudolph. Candidates from outside of the Police Department were not invited to apply for the position.
EDITOR'S NOTE: I am planning on naming Lt. Paul Covino in a lawsuit which may also include Leo A. Sacco Jr. and most definitely includes Richard F. Caraviello and Edward P. Finn. Do stay tuned!
