A Boston cop who had his $5,000 gun allegedly stolen by two strippers after a night out bar-hopping last week in Rhode Island is not being identified because he is “a victim,” police told the Herald today.

The unnamed officer’s .40-caliber Glock 22 service weapon was taken while he was with the women when they stopped at a hotel bar and later a strip club before ending the night at a hotel in Pawtucket, R.I., the police report states.
“He has been placed on administrative leave with pay and we have opened an internal affairs investigation,” Boston police spokesman Detective Sgt. John Boyle told the Herald on Thursday night. He declined to comment further.
Pawtucket police Detective Sgt. Christopher Lefort said today the gun was anonymously dropped off at a fire station on Hartford Avenue in Providence. He also said the Boston cop is not being named, adding “he is a victim.”
