"Tenured Employee Ordinance of the City of Medford" is the language union-boy Knight chose to use.

laws for the achievement of equal employment opportunity as set forth in the Basic ... (g) hear appeals of tenured employees concerning discharge, removal,.

thanks. In the video Adam Knight says @ 32:20 "the right to "just cause" termination." If it has to do with limiting a mayor's power, perhaps they became worried with all the Lungo-Koehn signs going up flooding out Muccini-Burke? This has to be watched carefully. Breanna, on the council, certainly is aware of what they are working on

Employee tenure is the length of time an employee works for an employer. Organizations, their customers and the employees themselves benefit from lengthy tenure; however, some workers prefer to change environments periodically to avoid boredom, stress and unfavorable working conditions.Dec 9, 2018

The Definition of Employee Tenure - Career Trend

Stephanie R writes:
the OPEB one has passed or is about to on this coming Tuesday. The one in question seems to be a Tenured Employee Ordinance" which would affect any city/school employee with more than 30 yrs of service and over the age of 60. that they would have protections as union employees do that they can only be terminated for just cause - either a conduct issue or poor work performance. not "just because" as any employee at will can be let go for any reason at all. BLK wanted a list of employees this would affect. Knight said Rumley would not be on the list as he is covered by another ordinance. only one I can think of in this category is head of Community Development. Maybe there are others?

my source inside city hall said "department heads." It's cold outside, have to get to one of the secret meeting places to get more info. Not kidding about that. When I got the documents on George Scarpelli it was like being in Eddy Murphy's film "Trading Places" where the documents were handed over to me in a parking lot purportedly away from cameras. People are really afraid of retaliation and repercussions.
