Hey Dan,
a friend told me about your article on Medford Media
I respectfully disagree with some of your points.
When
the owner of the Somerville News Weekly was on my TV show last October,
we discussed bringing his paper into Medford. I do a music column in
the paper - and some politics - Breanna Lungo-Koehn at the Michael
Douglas event ...
So now there is a free paper publication and an online presence
My very popular news site broke two big stories yesterday, a school committee person, Paul Ruseau, with a felony conviction, and the stabbing threat at the DPW. My hard work got us the L'Italien Report, but it seems there are different factions in Medford and so your commentary is not as objective

There are too many factions in Medford... when I started the campaign to shut down TV3 Medford, and succeeded, people paired off into groups. We would have been more effective as a team but Mayor McGlynn and his lawyer knew how to create division, much like Trump does.
Alas, we'll never all be able to see eye to eye, so you can have one vision for Medford, I can have another
meanwhile Medford United, Medford Revolution, Mobilize Medford can all hate each other and have spitball fights, yet some of us do the REAL heavy lifting.
My publishing of your pal Muccini-Burke allegedly giving the finger to the firefighters probably won Breanna the election. Those 652 votes didn't appear out of nowhere, and my site is heading towards two million page views, so someone is reading about 117 cops on the Brady list.
When a Transcript writer gets some Gatehouse Media award for a story I broke...well...there ya have it.
No one takes the Transcript or the Patch seriously anymore...they haven't earned it.
that's what went wrong
Publish my letter to the mayor on her vice chair being a convicted felon
Now that's hard work and good reporting

I’ve
been a West Medford resident for more than 10 years, in two stints
separated by three decades. In the early 1980s, when we first lived
here, the city was served by the Medford Daily Mercury, a vibrant,
independently owned paper published on weekdays. The owner, David
Brickman, was something of a legend in Massachusetts newspaper circles
and at one point served on the State Ethics Commission. My wife, Barbara
Kennedy, began her career as a newspaper photographer for the Mercury
and its sister papers, the Malden Evening News and the Melrose Free
Press.
