Breanna Begs for Money this Holiday Season - It is Better to GIVE than to RECEIVE, Santa Lungo-Koehn is saying...Medford Our Revolution Must Be Scaring Her

Though it is better to give than to receive, your mayor wants YOU to be Santa and give to HER this Holiday Season. That's not how it is supposed to work, Breanna.
Word Is that Our Revolution Medford has targeted the corner office as a goal in 2021. Mayor Lungo-Koehn appears to be responding to the threat: Breanna Lungo-Koehn for Mayor
Friend --
As a diverse group of Medford residents who care about the future of our City, we are writing to thank you for your support in last year’s campaign for a new Mayor, and to ask you to show your ongoing support for the work Breanna is doing to improve our City.
Thanks to your support, Breanna had the resources to share a clear vision for how Medford can continue to improve, while protecting the community we love. Under our Charter, Mayoral elections occur every two years, which means it is already time to think about the next campaign. We don’t know what the future holds, but regardless of whether she has an opponent, we know that we’ll need your support again to keep sharing Breanna’s message for how to move our city forward.
Unsurprisingly, dealing with COVID and keeping Medford residents safe has been the primary focus of the Lungo-Koehn Administration. But she’s also worked to strengthen our city government and implemented much-needed change. Despite a tough year, we’ve seen some important accomplishments this year and with a vaccine on the horizon, we are in a strong position to build an even stronger city.
  • The Lungo-Koehn Administration has taken important steps to professionalize city services and operations by reorganizing staffing; expanding professional development, training and performance accountability tools; using data to hold city departments accountable; and revamping See Click Fix, which will launch early 2021.
  • Under Breanna’s leadership, the City has expanded communications and community outreach with a revamped Communications and Community Affairs team; regular press releases; Soofa signs; outreach to senior citizens; regular newsletters launching soon; and $20k in reverse 911 cost savings.
  • The City has kicked off a Capital Improvement Plan & Pavement Management Plan, giving our community a comprehensive and realistic plan to improve Medford’s infrastructure.
  • We’ve launched a Comprehensive Planning Process for Medford, to create a shared vision for Medford’s future that brings about the kind of development Medford wants in the future.
  • Our community has begun the discussion and process of much-needed Charter Review.
  • We’ve created new boards and commissions to review parking policies and looking at longer-term parking reform, the needs of our fire department, and to welcome new residents and businesses to Medford.
  • The Administration finished its GLAM calculation and has initiated a Housing Production Plan giving Medford a seat at the table to negotiate responsible developments that fit in our community.
  • The City released a Budget that sets a new standard for transparency - with a focus on goals, performance and long-term financial stability. The decisions were tough, but as citizens, we could understand the rationale and know that the City stands on stable footing.
  • We’re investing in our parks, with improvements and renovations to parks across the City funded with CPC, linkage and CDBG funding in 2020-2021.
  • Most importantly, Breanna has risen to the challenge of governing during COVID-19, providing strong leadership, maintaining stable bond ratings, introducing business grants, outdoor dining and food security for those most affected by the pandemic. She’s worked hard. She listens. She’s cares.
Breanna knows she has more work to do and everything hasn’t been perfect. As supporters and friends, we know we need to share her accomplishments and drive the momentum we need to make Medford even better for our friends and families.
That’s why we need YOUR help. We want to show Breanna we see how hard she’s working and appreciate what she’s doing for our community.
