The Paul Ruseau Issue: About 5 pm today our Facebook page received a question on Ruseau: "Is there something in the election laws that says a convicted felon can’t be elected?"

Q: Is there something in the election laws that says a convicted felon can’t be elected?

A)Not that I've seen in Massachusetts though some get removed when found out in other states.

The problem is that he wasn't honest with the citizenry...and now is proclaiming that he was. He did his time so give him credit for that.

What is infuriating is that he changed his name, hid it, got caught, and proclaims it is "laughable."

Not when the mayor wants CORI checks on grandma and your 9 year old but the school committee was unaware of a criminal record of one of their own.

In Medford, sweep it under the rug, but hold the citizens to the HIGHEST of standards. That, Jim, is the problem.

The innocent are viewed with suspicion, yet inappropriate and allegedly illegal behavior by a city council president or two and a vice chair of a school committee just ignored.
