Medford’s Community Preservation Committee is seeking input to update Medford’s needs and priorities in advance of the next CPA funding round. Through an online survey, the CPC invites Medford community members to answer a series of questions to help the Committee evaluate and prioritize future CPA projects and better target outreach efforts. The CPC will also hold a public hearing on April 8that 6:30pm to obtain public input on Medford’s needs and priorities regarding future CPA funding.
The online survey is available here or at www.preservemedford.org, or you visit the City’s events calendar at www.medfordma.org/mayor/city-events for information on the April 8th public hearing.
CPA funding can be directed towards projects that fall into three categories: (1) Affordable Housing, (2) Historical Preservation, and (3) Open Space & Recreation.
The Community Preservation Act (CPA) was adopted by Medford voters by ballot vote in November 2015 and creates a dedicated funding source, financed by a surcharge on property taxes and state matching funds, for eligible projects. CPA funds are awarded through a grant application process administered by the CPC. To learn more about the CPA program, visit www.preservemedford.org.
