Mayor will give updates on Medford’s COVID-19 response and details on ongoing City projects and initiatives over the last 18 months.
Reopening Address, in lieu of a State of the City Address due to the pandemic, will be in-person as well as broadcast on Medford Community Media.
MEDFORD – Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn invites all Medford community members to join her at City Hall on Thursday, June 10th at 6pm for a “Reopening Address.” In the Address, the Mayor will provide updates on the City’s COVID-19 response and Reopening plans, and will also provide updates and information on projects, initiatives, and plans the Administration and departments have undertaken over the last 16 months. The Mayor will give the Address live from the City Council Chambers at City Hall, and community members are welcome. Light refreshments will be served. For those wishing to view at home, the Address will be aired live on Medford Community Media, and will be rebroadcast at later dates and times as well as streamed at www.medfordtv.org on demand.
In October 2020, Mayor Lungo-Koehn delivered a virtual progress update, available at www.medfordma.org/mayor, and published a “10 Month Progress Report” detailing completed and ongoing projects. As the City of Medford, like communities across the State, begin to reopen in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mayor’s Reopening Address will focus on the City’s COVID-19 response in addition to a more formal update on City services and planning initiatives. Due to the pandemic, critical response needs, and the inability to gather in person over the last 15 months, a traditional State of the City Address was postponed. The Reopening Address will be held in lieu of a traditional State of the City Address, in part to provide an opportunity to thank the Medford community, healthcare workers, first responders, and City staff for the incredibly hard work and the sense of community spirit shown during this challenging time.
If you have questions or need accommodations, please contact Jackie Piques, Director of Communications, at jpiques@medford-ma.gov, or 781-393-2529. We hope to see you on June 10th!
Medford city services are available to all residents, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age, language ability, economic situation, or immigration status.
