Archie Bunker Comes to Medford in the Person of John Petrella
Oh my God, Petrella
LOOKS like Archie Bunker too!
Petrella, bigot Archie Bunker, Racist Trump
fair use copyright, political speech
In John Petrella's campaign paraphernalia he claims to have the stats on every major religion in the world.
No proof to back-up his maniacal theory that he knows what "all major religions of the world" think, he just makes it up like "diversity director" Neil Osborne, Esq. responding to a complaint about himself personally.
You know what they say about attorneys like Osborne who represent themselves, they have a fool for a client.
You'd be a fool to vote for John Petrella showing his alleged "religious expertise" by just making it up, on the first
See the attached image with Petrella's foot-in-mouth from his site,
with his name attached so that he can't wiggle out of it. The Catholic
Church accepts civil unions, the Christian Science Church accepts gay
members, faculty and staff, Buddhists
have open views in this day and age, but candidate John Petrella's
opening remarks defend a church accused of kidnapping and torturing a
woman (I have deep files on this,) and their causing a ruckus at TV3
Medford hurling hate at homosexuals on 40 Canal Street.
And John Petrella wants to take us back to the stone age?
Here's the lunatic statement claiming he knows about "all" the "major religions" of "the world."
JOHN PETRELLA'S BIGOTRY:
_______________________________________________________
And days ago, the Mayor, and several City Councilors, including a mayoral candidate, led a protest against the Baptist Church in Medford Square for posting a belief held by all major religions of the world. "
___________________________
The
first part of Petrella's false statement is easy to identify. In his
Archie Bunker rant (the bigot from the show All In The Family,) Petrella
gives no data, no specifics about, say, ...the Catholic Church (Pope
Francis expressed support for same-sex civil unions,) the Christian
Science Church where the City of Boston is our "Vatican," and
...Buddhism... just to talk about three religions (and for the uninformed, Christian Science is hardcore Bible, it is NOT Dianetics "Scientology," two different things.)
Buddhism:
What does Buddhism say about homosexuality?
Buddhist attitudes to homosexuality
often reflect the society around them. There are a range of attitudes
towards homosexuality in Buddhist countries. For example homosexuality
between private and consenting adults was made legal in Thailand in 1956
(11 years before the UK) and there is no inhibition on homosexual men
becoming monks."
OK,
that's distinctly different, if you believe the news article, and light
years away from N.E. Baptist Church Pastor Michael's
taunting-for-attention signs in Medford Square.
"Although not widely acknowledged, Principia’s history reveals that,
for many years, homosexuals have been part of our community as students,
faculty, and staff. With this direction to the administration,
Principia welcomes all students of Christian Science and invites them to
uphold our community standards in an atmosphere that establishes the
highest standards of moral and spiritual purity in behavior and
relationships." At Principia we take a different approach to education—blending academic
excellence with Christian Science-based character education
Ross Furbush was able to be his
authentic self with the help of his mentor, whose acceptance of LGBTQ
people mirrored that of his church.
Principia School
is a K-12 institution for Christian Scientists in St. Louis. It has a
college that sits an hour away on the bluffs of the Mississippi River in
Elsah, Illinois. My journey as a gay man mirrors the changes that have
occurred within Christian Science when it comes to queer people.
THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
In the documentary Francesco, which was released in October 2020, Pope Francis
expressed support for same-sex civil unions. The pope said that
"homosexuals have a right to be a part of the family. ... They’re
children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown
out, or be made miserable because of it."[12]
One
of Petrella's supporters told me to forget Petrella's stance on Trump,
that this is a local race (my mantra, for sure.) When I informed the
Petrella supporter what is in the campaign literature today he was
stunned.
The
hope was that Petrella would knock out Falco as Petrella doesn't have a
snowball's chance in hell of winning the General election. Breanna's
going to win this thing anyway because Falco allegedly violated the
rules of the State Ethics Commission, just as Falco's colleague, a
"birthday boy" allegedly does regularly (yet another fraud on the
current city council)
Here's that rule...Georgiana for School Committee and Halloran for City Council take note:
State Ethics Commission issues reminder on use of public resources for political purposes
The Commission reminds state, county, and
municipal employees that the conflict of interest law generally
prohibits the use of public resources in connection with political
campaigns or other private political activity.
Read the announcement
Petrella backing the bigotry:
"America
was founded on religious freedom, this is treading on dangerous and
unconstitutional territory when our elected officials block traffic and
cause businesses to close down in order to protest against a Church.
Spending time on these radical, social policies has been to the
detriment of the City."
Hey, Mr. Petrella. Trump lost the election. You can go back to your bunker now.
The
protest against "a church" where a woman alleges she was kidnapped and
tortured, where I was attacked at TV3 by a lunatic "deacon" of those New
England Baptist crazies? You are supporting dangerous unbalanced
people wearing God on their sleeves but doing the work of the devil.
N.E. Baptist Church is as much a holy place as Rev Sun Myung Moon, Jim
and Tammy Faye Baker, Jimmy Swaggart and other sinners. Yes, they have
a First Amendment Right, so does the Ku Klux Klan.
That you've confessed to being a bigot is a wonderful thing. Now people can avoid you like the plague, candidate John Petrella.
