Dear Public Records,
I received a response today from Medford Solicitor Kim Scanlon.
Strangely, the solicitor's response to #9 claims "....none that are responsive to your request."
The City receives "presentment letters" when individuals plan on litigating against an employee
of the city and/or the city itself. As I am not a lawyer, I am simply requesting copies of the
documents known as "presentment letters." I know they must exist as I have seen numerous
lawsuits against the city of Medford on file in Superior court,
As there are many residents who would like to see these documents, that is of great public
interest, it is inappropriate for a city NOT to release such documents. Especially in light
of how difficult it is to sue a municipality - there are many ways for a city to slip out of
wrongful conduct by an employee because of all the red tape, and the serious nature
of "presentment letters."
I am respectfully requesting two presentment letters filed against the city of Medford
so that the public has better knowledge as to how to litigate against city officials,
elected officials, or any of the almost three dozen police officers on the "Brady list,'
the most notorious city when it comes to Giglio/Brady in all of Middlesex County.
a
THANK YOU
Joe Viglione
