Medford Establishing Planning Committee for City’s First Pride Festival
by Jackie Piques
The City of Medford is asking members of the public to join its planning committee for the first ever Pride Festival hosted by the City this June, Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn announced.
The committee, chaired by the City’s Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Frances N. Nwajei, will be tasked with organizing, planning and implementing the festival which celebrates and honors Medford’s LGBTQ community. To fill out an application form, click here or visit www.medfordma.org/boards. No prior experience is required. The deadline to apply is March 21, 2022.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for people of all backgrounds to get involved in planning a truly historic event in Medford,” Mayor Lungo-Koehn said. “We raised the PRIDE flag last year but recognize that to celebrate this vibrant community requires a greater and more thoughtful effort—and I know this festival will be an amazing event for the entire City.”
