MAYOR LUNGO-KOEHN APPOINTS NEW VETERANS’ SERVICES DIRECTOR June 16, 2022
Jeremy David Johns took over post in June
Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn announced today that she has appointed Jeremy David Johns as Medford’s newest Veterans’ Services Director. Johns had been working for the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs before officially joining the Mayor’s administration. The open Director position was posted publicly as of March 27, 2022.
“Medford has a large and dynamic veteran population that only continues to grow,” Mayor Lungo-Koehn said. “Having someone with Jeremy’s level of expertise and passion for supporting veterans’ needs and causes is incredibly valuable. I am thrilled that he will be joining our team and will get to work helping our veterans get the resources they need. Thank you to City Councilor Rick Caraviello for lending his insights and guidance during the hiring process.”
The Veterans’ Services office connects all veterans with critical resources, information and contacts to help them acclimate to civilian life and beyond. Medford is home to over 1,000 veterans. As the head of department, the Director is responsible for planning, organizing and carrying out programs to meet the economic and medical needs of veterans and their families.
“Our veterans deserve a community like Medford that supports and advocates for their diverse needs,” Johns said. “I thank Mayor Lungo-Koehn for this opportunity to continue working with our veterans to provide the highest level of service and care possible.”
