(In That Cold) KENTUCKY RAIN....ELVIS PRESLEY COVER 12:40 PM TODAY, 1 hour 40 minutes after morning concert

Kentucky Rain, approaching this more like Gordon Lightfoot than Elvis Presley. 12:40 pm after this morning's 10:30 am - 11 am concert. I stayed to arrange this tune...i believe it was my fifth concert since Sept 30, have it written down somewhere. Terrific 1978 remake by Rabbitt https://youtu.be/VjveySG3IWM

"Kentucky Rain" is a 1970 song written by Eddie Rabbitt and Dick Heard and recorded by Elvis Presley. It was recorded at American Sound Studio and features then session pianist Ronnie Milsap.[1] Other musicians on the record include Bobby Wood on piano, Bobby Emmons on organ, Reggie Young on guitar, Tommy Cogbill on bass and Gene Chrisman on drums.[2] The song and session was produced by Felton Jarvis (RCA-Victor) and Chips Moman (American Sound Studio of Memphis). It was certified Gold by the RIAA, signifying United States sales of more than a million copies.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kentucky_Rain

this 12:40 pm version from my post-concert practice was incomplete.  The phone ran out of storage. Will probably cut a new rendition tonight or over the weekend.

 "Kentucky Rain"

Seven lonely days
And a dozen towns ago
I reached out one night
And you were gone
Don't know why you'd run,
What you're running to or from
All I know is I want to bring you home

So I'm walking in the rain,
Thumbing for a ride
On this lonely Kentucky backroad
I've loved you much too long
And my love's too strong
To let you go, never knowing
What went wrong

Kentucky rain keeps pouring down
And up ahead's another town
That I'll go walking thru
With the rain in my shoes,
Searchin for you
In the cold Kentucky rain,
In the cold Kentucky rain

Showed your photograph
To some old gray bearded men
Sitting on a bench
Outside a gen'ral store
They said "Yes, he's been here"
But their memory wasn't clear
Was it yesterday,
No, wait the day before

So I fin'ly got a ride
With a preacher man who asked
"Where you bound on such a cold dark afternoon?"
As we drove on thru the rain
As he listened I explained
And he left me with a prayer
That I'd find you

12:35 pm take of KENTUCKY RAIN still working out the arrangement. 1 handed piano with left hand healing. Still working out the arrangement.
