Michael Bawduniak was a marketing manager at Biogen when he agreed to work with the FBI to uncover what he describes as an increasingly brazen scheme to give doctors millions of dollars in kickbacks to prescribe the company’s lucrative multiple sclerosis drugs.

Federal prosecutors opted not to pursue a criminal case. But 10 years later, Bawduniak feels vindicated.

Last month, he received $266.4 million as a result of a federal whistle-blower lawsuit he filed in 2012 against Biogen, now based in Cambridge.
