HELICOPTERS AND BTI IN THE AREA: WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BTI?

 3:38 PM APRIL 12, 2021

WE GET LETTERS
J.N  Every time they spray we lose all our birds and pollinators.

JOE V RESPONDS:  THAT IS AWFUL. I did not know that. It just seems scary to me

Letter writer responds 3:41 pm I’m hoping this is something different- but I have low expectations. Later in the season when they spray we lose the flowers from our plants and subsequent veggies.... 😞

Bti as a relatively non-toxic pesticide.

You think your kids should be exposed to something...oh, ho hum, "relatively non-toxic" ...and, more importantly, DO YOU BELIEVE THEM ON THE TOXICITY LEVEL WHEN YOU HAVE ALMOST 3 DOZEN COPS DEEMED UNTRUSTWORTHY BY THE D.A. IN YOUR POLICE STATION!

2. Using breeding house martins Delichon urbicum as a model species, we assessed the effect of Bti spraying on foraging rates and chick diet prior to and during 3 years of Bti spraying in the Camargue, France. Some 9051 feeding flights and 14 857 prey items were recorded in the early, mid and late nesting season at up to three control and three treated sites. Breeding parameters were assessed during 1 year at two control and two treated sites.https://besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1365-2664.2010.01821.x
