Longtime Medford Councilor Michael Marks Not Seeking Re-Election
Marks spent 26 years in local office, including six on the Medford School Committee.

Marks thanked the public, as well as his colleagues on the City Council. He said he is "at peace" with his decision to leave public office and is excited about what the future holds.

"To the people of Medford, I want to express my deepest appreciation for the faith you have shown in me. It truly has been an honor. Please accept also the gratitude of the Marks family for the privilege of serving your family over these many years," he added. "To my colleagues in public service, both elected and appointed, it has been a pleasure to collaborate with you for the betterment of the city we call home. There have been times that we disagreed on issues, but we never disagreed on our desire to work for a better Medford."
