It amazes me that people don't have the gift of gab. That they need "introductions" and APPS. Why can't they walk up to someone and say "Hi" if they find the person intriguing? So much Catfishing online it is beyond creepy but why does the Boston Globe spend so much time on Mr. Lonelyhearts and Ms. Desperate? Aren't dating apps profiting from you NOT finding a companion? So you see "body parts" as one person notes, in your "geography" and where's the excitement of "love at first site?" Hearing someone's voice, seeing their smile, seeing their interest in you in REAL LIFE! What online apps do is foster a failure to communicate. It shows the desperation in people who cannot strike up a conversation with someone they find intriguing and see if there is common ground. Maybe it is good for the Globe's circulation to appeal to these people who do not want to exercise their brain power and ability to speak in public, but doesn't anyone get how upside down fetching a date on the internet is?
