In the Mayor you have an articulate lawyer.
She's been the best mayor in decades...by default, then again, anyone is better
than McGlynn and Muccini-Burke. Like I said, by default
And look at the options....John Falco? Rick Caraviello?
Last night's debate at the poorly-named McGlynn school
came down to poise, knowledge and who could best
express themselves to the population.
Incumbent Breanna Lungo-Koehn delivered,
Mr. Caraviello did not.
In essence, Breanna Lungo-Koehn is the best of the worst.
As my friend the late Dr. Storella said to me "Nothing will
change, she's part of the same system."
As in, cut from the same cloth.
Caraviello kept repeating that he agreed with the mayor,
then would bash her. "On the fence" Caraviello is what we
call him and if the unprofessional, unprincipled soon to be ex councilor
seized the levers of power, it would be a disaster for Medford.
McGlynn would have an "in" again.
In Caraviello you have a very bad individual, a horrible human
being, who cannot speak properly. Yet, this is something that
we know. Just look at the hits Caraviello takes on Reddit.
They hate the soon-to-be ex-city councilor. (I love repeating that.)
However, this isn't about personality today, it's about
performance.
Caraviello didn't deliver, despite his dozen or so cronies
constantly interrupting by clapping for him.
Now that was sad. And rude, just like Caraviello himself.

Breanna could have mailed it in.
She wasn't at the top of her game, as when
she and Muccini -Burke went toe to toe.
But the mayor didn't have to be.
Having Caraviello as an opponent is exactly like
running unopposed. All Breanna had to do was not
make a mistake, and the attorney in her made sure that
what she said was precise, pretty accurate, and better
than the invisible man who actually agreed with the
mayor more than he attacked her.
Not how one wins an election, Mr. Caraviello.
LUNGO KOEHN VS MUCCINI BURKE
Amazingly, second time around Muccini-Burke was

much better than when Bob Penta sliced and diced
her in the "great debate," the first post-McGlynn
debate.
Breanna and Muccini-Burke, once sister councilors,
were like Joan Collins (Alexis Carrington)
and Krystle Carrington (Linda Evans, who turns 81, Nov 18) in
the famous Bitch Fight on Dynasty
At least they were entertaining, and Breanna prevailed.
No such fireworks last night at the dismal affair.
The citizens got something, some information, but not much.
Transparency is so elusive in Medford, and when Breanna
proclaims that, she's selling you a bill of goods.
Mr. Caraviello, like John Falco before him,
needed to come out swinging. Instead he was
his usual, self-centered bore.
Caraviello needed to come out dynamic.
He did not.
He did not.
When it comes to low self-image, Caraviello
takes the cake. It's not about public service,
Caraviello's tender ego needs to be attended
to. What he needs is a good psychiatrist,
not to be molester-in-chief of city government.
As a public speaker Caraviello has always
been horrible, but last night's debate was
worse than usual. Lackluster, no real vision
for Medford, continuously agreeing with
Lungo-Koehn, his opponent.
OVERALL:
The Chamber of Commerce does a poor job with these things,
much like everything else in Medford. I have solutions but they
don't want solutions, and anyone with a good thought (there are
many of us,) simply gets ignored in Medford.
No community. No integrity. Zero transparency.
Malden and Everett have their issues, but Medford has suffered
due to the Jack McGlynn/Mike McGlynn "Godfather" way of doing
business, and it lingers with Donato, Caraviello, the old guard that
has to be phased out in order for Medford to be revived.
The Verdict: with the new influx of people
in Medford, Mike McGlynn himself would have
a tough time winning an election today. And why
the former mayor, McGlynn, doesn't run is
the question.
It doesn't seem to be by choice.
Lungo-Koehn, as incumbent, is utilizing
all the McGlynn tricks. Paving the roads,
doing what she doesn't do for the majority
of the time.
Hopefully, as Breanna wins her third term Nov 7,
Lungo-Koehn will grow up and start acting
like an adult. She sure can hold a grudge and
be every bit as malicious as Caraviello,
and that has to stop.
Both candidates have egos the size of
the New England Baptist Church in
Medford Square. They both forget the
true definition of "public service."
With a third term, Breanna needs to get
it right. I won't hold my breath waiting,
and neither should you.
