Snow Information for December 5by Jackie Piques |
Based on current forecasts, the City of Medford is NOT declaring a snow emergency. However, as forecasts continue to change, we encourage all residents to park on the even side of the street wherever possible in case we need to call a snow emergency later today. Under our current City ordinance, when a snow emergency is in effect parking is allowed on the even side of the street ONLY.
DPW crews will be working throughout the day and night tonight to pre-treat roads, and to plow all streets as soon as snow starts accumulating. To help us avoid needing to call a snow emergency, and to ensure all streets remain accessible for emergency vehicles, please:
• Make sure your cars are parked close to the curb
• If possible, move your car to the even side of the street
• Plan ahead for snow shoveling. Per City ordinance, sidewalks must be
shoveled within 6 daylight hours after the end of a snow storm. If you
need shoveling assistance, a list of shovelers is available at www.medfordma.org/snow.
If you have questions or concerns, please email us at alerts@medford-ma.gov. Thank you, and stay warm!
