Editorial from the Medford Transcript -
This week, we’re happy to unveil two brand new columns from some familiar names.
First,
we welcome former city councilor Robert Penta, who has written some
Sitting In columns over the years and put pen to paper in the Council
Corner.
Now, Penta will be writing a political column called Penta’s Points, which we hope to share with you on a monthly basis.
Next, we hope you’ll be checking out Life and Money, a column by Andrea Bates McGrath about what else? Life and money.
McGrath
will offer her advice on the confusing world of money and how to keep
it from making your life crazier than it has to. Check out her first
column, offering some great tips to families about not letting that
inheritance make you forget what’s important in the first place.

PENTA'S POINTS: Officer's Facebook post should have been reviewed internally

The fact that a recent Medford
Police officer was publicly paraded before the local and Boston news
media for a Facebook posting has once again spotlighted our city in a
bad light.
The issue revolves around Officer
Jason Montalbano who, not representing himself as a Medford Police
officer, shared a post from another Facebook member (a retired U.S.
Marine, Steve Reichert) characterizing “It’s time we made peace with
Islam.”
