"If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit."
- Jesus, Matthew 15:14
Dear Medford Residents,
Ann
Marie Cugno says that she's a public servant and that she cares about
you. If so, watch her vote when she votes on Roy Belson very carefully.
There's
Roy Belson begging for decorum in our community or "another
superintendent" won't want to come to Medford. Trust us, Roy, the
minute you are gone they will come in droves. Roy Belson is only saying
that because he's the individual so lacking in dignity, so allergic to
decorum, that qualified candidates will run if they get a whiff of his
Machiavellian ways..
Then
you have Paulette Van der Kloot referencing how poorly Mr. Belson
conducted himself in public, probably that Medford Transcript article
where Belson lashed out at me, at a former city councilor and two
sitting city councilors.
Van der Kloot told their hand-picked audience that she chewed Belson out. Oh sure, Paulette.
In
your dreams. What Van der Kloot did uncover is that Belson was the
problem; it was her attempt at "self inoculation" for the school
committee and it fell flat on its face.
Belson calls for civility, yet Belson is the one antagonizing residents who pay his bloated paycheck.
Van
der Kloot says that she admonished Belson, which is like two pals at
the bar fighting over who will pay the check, laughing at the citizens
of Medford, and drunk with power, Paulette points her finger and says
"Don't do it again." They both, Van der Kloot and Belson, laugh at the
residents who buy into their bad acting.

As
citizens sign a petition which essentially calls for the resignation of
Roy E. Belson, the current superintendent of schools pulled something
straight out of the Mike McGlynn Handbook -
Roy
Belson stacked the deck with teachers and colleagues to give him a
standing ovation, clap loudly like Mike McGlynn closing down a debate
prior to an election.
However,
Belson's nervousness was visible, and the shadow of so many citizens
calling for his ouster was haunting Belson. It was obvious and as
evident as the fact that Belson - like Bob Covelle at Medford Housing
before him, has no intention of stepping aside,.
Good
news for Medford: when this writer removed the mayor's uncle from the
board of the housing authority, with help from former Governor Deval
Patrick, Bob Covelle was gone.
We
have a similar plan in place to protect this city from one of the
"untouchables," one of the dozen or so individuals in love with the
scepter of power, and who show contempt and disdain for the taxpayers
funding their obscene paychecks.
Now
you might say "What does a film critic know about politics?" and you
would, ordinarily, have a good argument, but a film critic can spot a
bad actor before the general audience will, and what was oh so glaring
was bad acting by Paulette Van der Kloot, Ann Marie Cugno, Stephanie
Muccini Burke, Roy E. Belson, Erin DiBenedetto and Bob Skerry, in that
order.
After
intermission, Richard Trotta showed up to speak. Now Mr. Trotta is an
interesting case study. You see, he was on a cable TV commission along
with Bob Skerry, who in his past life was a senior fraud investigator
who, while on the cable TV commission, never went after the fraud that
was staring him in the face. When questioned on this matter Mr. Skerry
said "Not that kind of fraud." On, really? The former mayor says "hands
off" and our pal Bob Skerry jumps, rolls over, begs, and gave Mikey
McGlynn his paw. You know why no one is laughing? Because it wasn't
meant to be funny.
A dereliction of duty never is.
How
did Mr. Trotta make his exit from the cable TV commission? When the
Secretary of State's office phoned him to respond to my public records
request, his response was to quit McGlynn's commission. Think about it.

Tell
me, what did Bob Skerry add to the meeting tonight other than call out
the names when there was a roll call --- like Ed Finn having another
siesta interrupted. Bob Skerry does more work than city clerk Ed Finn,
but then again, so does everyone else on the planet.
Term limits. This city is suffering from no TERM LIMITS.
In
order to improve Medford the landscape must change. Roy Belson threw
the gauntlet down tonight, and just like Bob Covelle, Belson doesn't
think he's going anywhere.
A smart man said to me "You got rid of Uncle Gene (at Medford Housing,) you'll get rid of Frank Pilleri."
Let's see - Gene McGillicuddy, Bob Covelle, Frank Pilleri and TV3, Mike McGlynn, Paul Camuso,
Bob
Maiocco, the only decent man in the bunch is Uncle Gene and he was just
a pawn used by his unscrupulous nephew. The others did serious harm to
the city of Medford and they are no longer in the positions of power
that they once had. They may have some influence, but they've been
effectively neutered for now.
"You got rid of Uncle Gene, you'll get rid of Frank Pilleri." If you read the Transcript this week a board member of TV3 is protesting a little too much about the fact that it was we residents and a former city councilor who removed them.
Adam
Knight said to a city councilor "Fxxkxng Joe Vig's blog got rid of
McGlynn." The city councilor advised him "Yes, and now he's got his
sights on removing you!" You can almost feel the gulp in Mr. Knight's
throat, can't you?
This
writer has had lots of practice removing shameless, immoral,
unprincipled, unethical individuals from city government. We've become
quite proficient at achieving these honorable goals on behalf of our
city.
Now
here's the very good news. In regards to Roy Belson, my job is
complete. The parents are agitated and are like a runaway train. The
signatures are piling up on the petitions and the teachers are tired of
cheering and clapping for some long-in-the-tooth reprobate with a dirty
mouth and a penchant for retaliation. Oh they showed up tonight and
clapped for rude old Roy, but their hearts were not in it. Answering
Roy's call was a requirement of doing business in Medford. City Hall
just loves to retaliate and be vindictive if you don't. Roy Belson is a
big part of that ugliness.
His dog and pony show tonight won't save him from the pink slip the citizens are going to hand him.
Belson
is Bob Covelle 2016, an individual exposed, a superintendent who has
long overstayed his welcome. There's the door, Roy. Exit gracefully or
have the parents sign petition after petition.
The parents of the students are going to storm the castle. Get the popcorn. But don't gloat.
This isn't fun, it's a necessity if our city is going to survive.
Roy
Belson is right on one thing: this process demands civility. So get
rid of Roy the problem and future candidates for the job of
superintendent will line up.
It
isn't the citizens scaring away qualified men and women, it is Roy
Belson and certain unsavory members of "his" school committee including a
woman who was as good as City Council president as she is bad as chair
of the school committee. What happened to Stephanie? That's a story for
another day. If you can't wait, pick up a copy of Star Wars IV and
learn about the dark side.
