Medford Public Schools Post: Columbus School Advisory Committee Application Now Available by Jackie Piques Medford Public Schools  SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE RENAMING OF THE COLUMBUS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL On June 15, 2020 the Medford School Committee voted to rename the Columbus Elementary School effective July 1, 2021. On March 10, 2021, the Medford School Committee voted to create the Columbus Elementary School Renaming Advisory Committee to review all suggestions made by members of the Medford community for a new name for the school and select three finalists for consideration by the Medford School Committee. The Medford School Committee is expected to vote on a new name for the Columbus Elementary School in the spring of 2021. If you would like to be considered for a seat on the Columbus Elementary School Renaming Advisory Committee please fill out this form or contact the Office of the Superintendent to receive a print copy of this form. Individuals applying to serve as a member of the Columbus Elementary School Renaming Advisory Committee may also complete this voluntary demographics survey, the information of which will not be used in the determination of the advisory committee. Regardless of whether you are or are not interested in serving on the Columbus Elementary School Renaming Advisory Committee, you are invited to submit suggested new names for the Columbus Elementary School by completing this form.  Print copies of this form are available by contacting the Office of the Superintendent. All applications to serve on the Columbus Elementary School Renaming Advisory Committee and submissions for suggested new names of the Columbus Elementary School must be submitted by 5:00pm on Friday, April 16, 2021.
