John Kerry and the Boston Herald Public Records Request

John Kerry chimes in on climate, not denial of public records of his office    The Herald’s FOIA — and an appeal for an expedited response — has been denied.

The State Department FOIA office stated: “Requests shall receive expedited processing when a requester demonstrates a ‘compelling need’ for the information exists for one of the following reasons: (1) failure to obtain the requested information on an expedited basis could reasonably be expected to pose an imminent threat to the life or physical safety of an individual; (2) the information is urgently needed by an individual primarily engaged in disseminating information in order to inform the public concerning actual or alleged Federal government activity; or (3) failure to release the information would impair substantial due process rights or harm substantial humanitarian interests.”

The FOIA office added the Herald’s request “does not demonstrate a ‘compelling need’ for the requested information.  Therefore, this Office denies your request for expedited processing.”

So Kerry’s team, and the pay and titles, remain hidden from the public.

When a Medford city councilor smashed the Bank of America door on April Fool's Day 2021, the Medford Police were more than happy to give me the police report. When I asked for the photos (rumor is his kids were in the car when the police report say he fled at a high rate of speed out of the parking lot on Mystic Ave, Medford) they refused. ...Now it's almost a year and the photos are still "under review." Meanwhile a criminal complaint was filed and A.K. went to court 9/24/21, BEFORE THE ELECTION. Yes, I'm a Kerry supporter and I'm with the Boston Herald on this. Hand over the documents, J.K. Anyone think I'll get the photos with my current request? Sec of State's office ordered them to hand them over to me and the Medford Police aren't complying. Now I think they WANT the photos out, but union boss Sean O'Brien, close friends with Adam K., is probably (allegedly) not in Agreement. SOMEONE got me 2 photos anonymously, so ...there is great public interest here. Just hand the documents over to the Herald, Mr. Kerry....it's the law.
