Grand jury releases indictments

    The reckless endangerment charge is related to Williford allegedly providing the drug to his wife, who was “in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury,” according to the indictment. Both the defendant and his wife were hospitalized following their alleged drug overdoses.
    Another person named in a sealed indictment returned by a Hamblen County grand jury on May 21, Deborah G. Walker, 59, Meadow Wood Road, Newport, was arrested over the weekend for TennCare fraud.
    Walker allegedly used her government-provided insurance to obtain the same prescription drug for the same reason two times within a 30-day period, according to the indictment.
    While Williford and Walker are moving into the Hamblen County Criminal Court system, nine others moved out on Friday.
    Circuit Court Judge Alex Pearson sentenced
