INSULTING COUNCIL PRESIDENT CALLS THE ALLEGATION AGAINST MAYOR 'INSULTING" (TO THE COUNCIL)
FULL CONSPIRACY AGAINST MAYOR LUNGO-KOEHN?
BREAKING: CARAVIELLO AND KNIGHT ALLEGED TO BE BACKING JOHN FALCO; MARKS UNDECIDED.
The matter has set the City Council scrambling to find a way to address the allegations; the council scheduled an executive session to discuss the mayor’s comments and the accusation of financial impropriety for Friday evening, June 25, and a second session for Saturday morning, June 26.
The council will ask the city to pay for an outside counsel to represent them and has authorized its own investigation into the allegations of financial chicanery.
During a special council meeting June 23 before the budget hearing, both Nunley Benjamin and Durham advised the council they waived their rights to privacy so the body could discuss the issue publicly.
“I have worked with Aleesha for six years; she was nothing but professional,” said Council President Rick Caraviello, of the accusations. “We got the letter Friday, and I reached out to Aleesha on Saturday and apologized to her.”
He said he was taken aback by the mayor’s comments.
“It’s insulting to the City Council as well," Caraviello said. "I don’t know where the mayor thought we would be more comfortable with a white man presenting the budget."
