A Boston police officer has pleaded guilty to sending a phony $790 traffic ticket and a crude handwritten note to the home of a driver he said cut him off on Interstate 93, prosecutors said.

“Try fighting this . . . I dare you!” read the note from Officer Christopher Curtis. “What happens when you try and run an officers truck off the road on 93S. Hope it was worth it. See you in court.”

He was suspended while his case was pending. You cannot fire someone for being charged because we are all innocent until proven guilty. Now that his case has been resolved by the guilty plea he will likely be fired.

The police department should also investigate his use of investigative tools to settle a personal matter. Police cannot do that. They cannot "run" someone's plate out of curiosity. They have to have a legitimate reason.

This guy is dangerous.
