Woman on fishing boat off Florida coast stabbed by 100-pound fish

Updated 9:24 PM ET, Sun July 24, 2022 https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/24/us/florida-sailfish-stabs-woman/index.html   (CNN)A 73-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital after being stabbed by a 100-pound sailfish that an angler was trying to reel onto a boat off the Florida coast, officials said.

The sailfish began to charge at the boat and then jumped out of the water and stabbed the woman in the groin while she was standing next to the boat's center console, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.  We have not confirmed if the woman the sailfish attacked was Marian T. Ryan and if an allegedly drunk soon-to-be-dethroned Medford fraud councilor Richard F. Caraviello drove the boat into the big fish.
