Losers Who Use Dating APPS have Serious Emotional Problems, Low Self Image, Etc.

catfishing 101   BOSTON GLOBE ARTICLE ON ONLINE DATING 1/15/23.

BOSTON GLOBE ARTICLE ON ONLINE DATING 1/15/23. I like meeting people in "real life." The gift of gab, being able to communicate, walking up to someone who smiles at me and handing them my business card. Is the art of meeting people in "real life" diminished by creepy dating sites? I saw a handsome fellow in Boston back in 1995, asked him if he'd like a drink, and he spent the rest of his life with me. He passed away 9 years ago this past week, and I miss him every day. You don't find that kind of attraction online, that ability for people to meet, chat, and become so very important to each other. In fact, online dating companies do not want people to succeed seeing body parts and geography (how close someone's photo may be to your home.)

THE DATING COMPANIES ARE CATFISHING FOR DESPERATE PEOPLE TO CATFISH EACH OTHER, LIES AND GEORGE SANTOS' FICTION TO FIND A SEX PARTNER OR SOME TEMPORARY PLAYMATE.

THAT'S HOW THE DATING COMPANIES MAKE THEIR MONEY, ON UNSUCCESSFUL PEOPLE HAVING UNSUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIPS.

Online dating companies have millionaire CEO's preying on desperate lonely people and hoping they don't succeed at a relationship. When I managed the AirBNB 2018-2021 I was putting down online dating (heck, what better place to meet people than an AirBNB, right?) A married couple moved in and the woman told me that they had met online. She showed up - after leaving - about six months later, with a crush on one of the roommates, saying that her husband had punched her out, after she beat him up. I banned her from the home for good that day. So much for that online dating "success" story. Another fellow who moved out of the AirBNB (his wife had forced him out of the house) went on a Match.com rampage, catfishing. He married a woman in 2019 and she filed for divorce a few months ago. He was using his 2 little kids on Match.com - to his first ex-wife's chagrin - as if he were some great catch and family man. No, he was a creep.

LIKE I SAID, DESPERATELY LONELY PEOPLE, BOTH SIDES USUALLY LYING AND 'TESTING' EACH OTHER ON ONLINE DATING SITES, THE SITES MAKE FORTUNES, AND PEOPLE GET KILLED. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HUMAN BEINGS IN 2023?

So this past week a terrific lawyer got a sexual harasser to sign a 209a, in court - in front of a judge - to stay away from me, and from other tenants. The dude, about a decade my junior, attempted to get me into a bathroom. How disgusting. Then in another incident he called me a "queer" when he, a married man, was stalking me repeatedly. Ugggh. I called the cops, worked with the police, and now have protection. Simultaneous with this some "beautiful woman" was attempting to reach me on Facebook and hook me up with her "brother." I do not do online dating, I do not to restrooms, I do not do bushes. What is wrong with these people? I found her "brother's" name, looked him up, he was creepy, older than me, and using photos from 30 years ago. I told them from the outset, I do not do online dating. The guy wanted a "relationship" with me? (I never met him, he must have been stalking me for months.)

BOSTON GLOBE: As dating apps show their shortcomings, Boston-area matchmakers are busier than ever

During the thick of the pandemic, COVID-era restrictions caused apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge to surge in popularity as people tried their hand at Zoom dating. But even though the dating world is now (somewhat) back to normal, many singles still feel off their game: More than 60 percent say dating is harder than before COVID-19, according to the Pew Research Center.

Enter matchmaking, a centuries-old practice that may be particularly well-suited to tackle the dating woes of today.

It amazes me that people don't have the gift of gab. That they need "introductions" and APPS. Why can't they walk up to someone and say "Hi" if they find the person intriguing? So much Catfishing online it is beyond creepy but why does the Boston Globe spend so much time on Mr. Lonelyhearts and Ms. Desperate? Aren't dating apps profiting from you NOT finding a companion? So you see "body parts" as one person notes, in your "geography" and where's the excitement of "love at first site?" Hearing someone's voice, seeing their smile, seeing their interest in you in REAL LIFE! What online apps do is foster a failure to communicate. It shows the desperation in people who cannot strike up a conversation with someone they find intriguing and see if there is common ground. Maybe it is good for the Globe's circulation to appeal to these people who do not want to exercise their brain power and ability to speak in public, but doesn't anyone get how upside down fetching a date on the internet is?
