City Searching for Members to Serve on Several Boards and Commissions
Members wanted to Commission of Trust Funds, Committee Preservation Committee, Conservation Commission, Traffic Commission and the Historic District Commission
(MEDFORD)— The City of Medford is currently accepting applications from Medford residents to serve on five various Boards and Commissions.
Residents who are interested in serving on either of these commissions should complete the Board and Commission Interest Form available at medfordma.org/boards-commissions. If you need a physical form, please visit the Mayor’s Office at Medford City Hall, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, Room 202, Medford, MA 02155.
Residents of all backgrounds and abilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Medford city services are available to all residents, regardless of economic situation, race, gender, ability, benefit eligibility, or religious affiliation.
Commission of Trust Funds

The Commission of Trust Funds is tasked with managing various trusts left to the City. The group decides on how to invest funds in the best interests of the City.
Community Preservation Committee

The Community Preservation Committee of Medford is responsible for evaluating the preservation needs of the City of Medford and making recommendations to the Mayor and Medford City Council to appropriate Community Preservation Act funds for projects that would best fulfill those needs. Through use of an open process, and actively engaging the community, we will endeavor to improve open space, recreation, affordable housing, and historic preservation through the allocation of funding provided by the citizens and businesses of the City of Medford.
Conservation Commission
1 Spot Open (This position also serves on the Community Preservation Committee)
The Medford Conservation Commission administers environmental laws and policies, open space protection and management, water management, and preservation of natural features of the environment.
Traffic Commission

The Traffic Commission sets policy around the City’s parking procedures, traffic regulations and road accessibility.
Historic District Commission
2 Spots Open
The Medford Historic District Commission consists of members appointed by the Mayor and interested in historic preservation. The Commission membership is generally made up of residents of the individual Districts, real estate professionals, architects, preservationists, attorneys, and interested citizens. The Medford Historic District Commission is separate from, but works in tandem with, the Medford Historical Commission.
