Complaints against the police for failing to investigate offences are increasing, and information published by the Independent Police Complaints Commission confirms that in the year 2014/15, of a total of 37,105 complaints against the Police in England and Wales, 34% were recorded as ‘other neglect or failure in duty.’
A policeman and a community support
officer have recently been jailed, for 10 months and 4 months
respectively, for failing to prevent the murder of a disabled man who
was beaten to death by his neighbours after he had called the police for
help on 12 occasions.
