The BOOKEXPO in New York shut down. This was the largest publishing event for authors and publishers in the world. I'm shocked and dismayed. It indicates that the pandemic has rocked an arena that one thought would last forever

Being that the Globe thinned it out (and used the Medford Mustang, the high school newspaper for stories) before it cut overhead (by removing a very popular section) one wonders if Gannett will start consolidating its local papers?
Stoneham Sun, Malden Observer, Arlington Advocate, Medford Transcript, Somerville Journal...can Gannett sustain all these papers by merging them?
Wonder what each city and town hauls in for revenue?
Especially during the pandemic.
