The Neil Osborne Problem:
In a June 2017 press release, former mayor Muccini-Burke appointed a failed candidate for city council, Neil Osborne, to Diversity Director.

We all gave Mr. Osborne the benefit of the doubt.

After all, Diane McLeod, his predecessor, was the proverbial mouse on a spinning wheel. https://youtu.be/AqGIcaf49rE

What did McLeod accomplish?

Diane told me her role was to advise people....she and former police chief Sacco would rail against the New England Baptist Church, ho hum, that's a safe and easy target, when violence and defamation was emanating from 5 High St. and 30 Riverside Ave at the Medford Community Cablevision, Inc., which I and two others shut down.

Essentially, Ms. McLeod did little or nothing for the community. Osborne is now in office four years and three months and former city solicitor, in his boldest move yet, is accusing Osborne of alleged "Wage Theft." Yikes.

But prior to Rumley (now of counsel in Malden) getting a clue, this writer had caught Osborne and Rachel Tanenhaus violating the Open Meeting Law. Go to the AG's website to see my handicraft, hard work and honest effort.

A handicraft is "a particular skill of making decorative objects by hand." Someone decorated Mr. Osborne's resume' very nicely pointing out how inefficient he is.   This writer would be that someone.

Medford deserves better than this and Breanna Lungo-Koehn has her political reasons for keeping such a negligent attorney on board. I have a good idea what they are. The mayor, once again, is keeping Muccini-Burke's bad choices and jeopardizing an election she already has locked up in her pocketbook. IT makes no sense.

Happy Halloween, Your Honor.

PRESS RELEASE
Mayor Stephanie M. Burke formally announced her appointment of Neil Osborne to the role of Diversity Director for the City of Medford. Mayor Burke stated, “We are thrilled to have Neil’s immense experience in community leadership and advocacy. Mr. Osborne will be a great addition to the administration and an advocate for the entire City.”

Mr. Osborne, a lifelong resident of Medford, holds a law degree from Suffolk University School of Law and continues to play an active role within several organizations throughout the community; such as the Mystic Valley Area Branch NAACP and Medford Health Matters, Inc.

“I’m honored to join Mayor Burke and her administration as the Diversity Director. I’m excited to get started in my new role to build upon the foundation that Diane McLeod put in place. I intend to shine a spotlight on the City’s rich and diverse cultural history and illuminating a path forward that Medford is an open, welcoming and accepting city.”
