My stepdaughter was probably 13 when on August 18, 1987 when I wrote this masterpiece and recorded it during her mother's recording sessions. Told her "When you fall in love, the songs just come out of the cosmos." She is now 48 and just sent me a lovely note...she has a new album coming out. Her mother would be so proud. I gave her permission to use a track of hers mastered by another producer for the Rolling Stones. She's family, of course she has permission.
THE STORY OF TRANSPORTER
The late producer of the Rolling Stones, former Medford resident Jimmy Miller, loved what I had written (that's 2 for 2 songs I wrote in the studio at Normandy Sound, Warren, Rhode Island) so he helped me with the descending line intro and he went to bed. Phil Greene, engineer extraordinaire (New Kids on the Block, Beaver Brown Band) former guitarist on Warner Bros. act Swallow, created the drum machine beat and recorded me on twelve string.
The song is the title track of my next album as it continues to get airplay around the world.
REVISIONIST HISTORY RETROSPECTIVE: CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU SMILE
Yes, it is a sequel to Manilow/Carpenter's "Can't Smile Without You."
PRODUCED BY JOE VIGLIONE
THIS IS A MASTERPIECE
AND MY GREATEST SKILL, BEYOND WRITING INCESSANTLY, IS MY ABILITY TO MAKE A TERRIFIC SOUNDING RECORDING
