RE: MEDFORD POLITICS
Dear Readers,
Transcribing a live event is not an easy thing to do.
Be warned that many of the conversations are truncated and, in some places, information drifted off into cyberspace. That's what happens when you don't have time to save things into draft as an event is happening.
BUT, our Council meeting transcriptions and this Candidates Night prove to be very popular with our readers.
Just understand it is important to watch the replay.
This is kind of like an "echo" of the event.
What this blog does capture, though, is the hijinks going on behind the scenes. The cronyism, the tilting of this election. As Nell Escobar Coakley said about my TV3 investigation "You are spot on."
Indeed. Thank you to the candidates tonight who congratulated me on taking out TV3. You know who you are.
This editor fights hard for Medford residents.
A note to Breanna Lungo-Koehn - kissing Nick Iovino's derriere in public is a problem for you.
In 2011 Iovino, a cub reporter being ordered what to do like a Son-of-Chucky robot, failed to go on the Medford Housing Authority story. In fact, he didn't go on it until I sent him FIVE STORIES HE MISSED and told him so in his office in Somerville.
You should actually thank the people who do the heavy lifting instead of channeling Paul Camuso's suck-up routine. That was shameful, Breanna, absolutely shameful.
And with Jeanne Martin's political novice moves to try to win the affections of certain candidates, the last thing we need is the two female candidates acting like they are auditioning for THE VOICE instead of rolling up their shirtsleeves and doing the work - the critical work - this city is in desperate need of.
Watch for my Patch article grading all the candidates.
To post soon.
